Sample package · The Unhurried Life by Maren Kessler

📖 Your print edition

Two kinds of PDF live here: the interior (the inside pages of your book, typeset at 6″ × 9″) and the wrap covers (back cover + spine + front cover as one sheet, sized to your exact page count — that's why the spine fits perfectly).

The settings below aren't suggestions — they're the settings these files were built for. Enter them exactly and Amazon's previewer will accept your files.

Step by step

  1. 1

Create the print book on KDP

From your KDP Bookshelf choose Create → Paperback (and Hardcover separately, if your package includes one — each format is its own listing on Amazon).

  2. 2

    Enter the print settings

Trim size 6″ × 9″ · Black & white interior on cream paper (paperback) or white paper (hardcover) · No bleed · Matte cover finish.

  3. 3

    Upload interior, then cover

interior-print.pdf goes in the manuscript slot. cover-paperback.pdf (or cover-hardcover.pdf) goes in the cover slot. Choose "my own cover" — not Cover Creator.

  4. 4

    Run the previewer and approve

Amazon takes a minute to process, then shows a 3D preview. Check the spine text and a few interior pages, then approve.

interior-print.pdf

The inside pages, typeset at 6″ × 9″. Upload as the manuscript for BOTH paperback and hardcover.

cover-paperback.pdf

Full paperback wrap (back + spine + front) sized to your exact page count. Paperback cover slot only.

Good to know

  • If KDP says it "removed non-printable markup — check pages 3–4", don't panic: that notice appears for virtually every book (it's about internal links in the table of contents) and is harmless in print.
  • Order a printed proof copy before you publish — KDP offers them at cost. Nothing beats holding the real thing.
