Step by step

Create the print book on KDP
From your KDP Bookshelf choose Create → Paperback (and Hardcover separately, if your package includes one — each format is its own listing on Amazon).

Enter the print settings
Trim size 6″ × 9″ · Black & white interior on cream paper (paperback) or white paper (hardcover) · No bleed · Matte cover finish.

Upload interior, then cover
interior-print.pdf goes in the manuscript slot. cover-paperback.pdf (or cover-hardcover.pdf) goes in the cover slot. Choose "my own cover" — not Cover Creator.

Run the previewer and approve
Amazon takes a minute to process, then shows a 3D preview. Check the spine text and a few interior pages, then approve.

Good to know
- If KDP says it "removed non-printable markup — check pages 3–4", don't panic: that notice appears for virtually every book (it's about internal links in the table of contents) and is harmless in print.
- Order a printed proof copy before you publish — KDP offers them at cost. Nothing beats holding the real thing.
